Bell Motorcycle Helmet

The Bell Motorcycle Helmet: Back To The Future

Back in the 80s the legendary Bell helmet was synonymous with motorcycle helmets. In fact, just about every motorcycle enthusiast on the road used a Bell motorcycle helmet.

Bell was the first motorcycle helmet manufacturer to introduce expanded polystyrene (EPS) liners into its helmet range, making Bell motorcycle helmets the most protective on the road or race track. Today, EPS liners are an industry standard.

Then in 1991 the Bell brand was bought by Italian motorcycle helmet manufacturer Bieffe, which gradually phased out the Bell motorcycle helmet until the brand was all but forgotten.

But in 2002, Bell Sports repurchased the Bell motorcycle helmet brand, and set it up as a separate entity from the parent company. So today Bell motorcycle helmets are back on track.

As before, Bell specializes in the best motorcycle helmets at the best price, and, as before, innovation is the Bell key to success. The modern Bell Company owns more design patents than any other motorcycle helmet manufacturer, including the trademarked Fusion In-Mold Microshell Bonding and the Geared Position Fit System.

The Bell range includes full and open face street helmets, off road helmets, racing helmets and half helmets.

In the Bell off road motorcycle helmet range, the Moto 8 is creating the biggest Buzz. The Moto 8 features a flip down `flying bridge’ visor that blends inn with the crown of the helmet when it is up. Dynamic graphics in strong colors and space age design make this Bell motorcycle helmet stand out in a crowd.

Comfort for the wearer is paramount, with removable and washable Drytime comfort liners and the trade marked Velocity Flow Ventilation system.

Open face street helmets are making a comeback now the Bell version is available. The Mag-8 was even lauded by WebBikeWorld, not usually a fan of open face helmets, for its sleek lines and European flair. Primarily concerned with safety, WebBikeWorld also praised the Mag-8 for giving good protection.

One of the great features of the Mag-8 is its retractable shield, which comes in smoke or clear versions. The Mag-8 is solid colored, in pearl white, black, candy red, pearl blue and titanium with a high gloss shine. To protect that shine, all helmets come with a free fleece helmet bag.

The new Bell full face street helmet, called the Sprint, is as good looking as it is protective. The edgy graphics and dynamic color range of blue, black, silver and red look great, and the composite shell, removable liner and fully adjustable air intake vents give maximum protection and comfort.

But the Bell Motorcycle Helmet company also offers one other service no competitor can match – if your dream is to own a vintage collectible Bell motorcycle helmet from the 80s, Bell will track one down for you. The Bell website has a number of vintage helmets available, all in original packing and all made in the USA.

New or old, with a bell motorcycle helmet, you can go back to the future.
